  • Until 23 May 2023, 600 executives from the MRO sector will get together in Cancun, Mexico

Disruption in the supply chain, high operating costs, shortage of skilled workforce to meet projected growth, macroeconomic factors in the region such as inflation and devaluation, and the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in operations are just a few of the challenges facing aviation in Latin America and Caribbean.

In this sense, 2023 edition of the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference, organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), will seek to bring solutions to most of these challenges affecting the maintenance and technical purchasing sector. From May 21 to 23 in Cancun, Mexico, there will be numerous instances for collaborative networking and the exchange of perspectives during the conference’s academic agenda, which will feature eight presentations and panels.

“This year the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference academic agenda will be forward looking. We already know the impacts of the pandemic. We will focus on what the maintenance and technical purchasing sector needs to grow sustainably both technically and in terms of human capital, what is the status of the industry and what are the trends and technologies available that will impact the near future. ALTA is committed to keep relevant the longest-standing and most important meeting of the technical sector in the region. This is why we thank the 58 sponsors and exhibitors who support us in making this event a unique gathering, as well as the over 600 executives who will be present in Cancun”, highlights José Ricardo Botelho, ALTA’s Executive Director & CEO.

During this conference, two of the oldest technical committees in the region will meet: the Technical Purchasing Committee, chaired by Liliana Bocanegra – Director of Strategic Supply Avianca, and the Maintenance Committee, chaired by Jorge Jácome, SVP of Maintenance and Engineering Aeromexico. Both will address the industry’s most pressing challenges and solutions to them.

The conference’s academic agenda will be broadcasted live on ALTA’s YouTube channel. The entire aviation community is invited to tune in to the discussions here: https://www.youtube.com/user/AEROALTA
