- The growth in the number of seats for travel between Latin America and Europe is 5% higher than the figures for 2024, allowing the airline to continue consolidating its leading position in this air corridor
- Iberia will exceed 350 weekly frequencies during the year, a figure higher than the maximum of 330 it had in 2024
- Iberia’s commitment to Latin America has been reflected this year in capacity increases in markets such as Peru, Chile, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, among others
- More and more customers from Latin America are using the Hola Madrid stopover programme, which allows Iberia passengers to stay in Madrid for up to nine nights at no additional cost on their way to or from another destination in the airline’s network, with many benefits and discounts on accommodation, leisure, transport and gastronomy
In 2025, Iberia has surpassed its previous record for connectivity between Latin America and Europe, scheduling a capacity of more than 5.5 million seats on this air bridge throughout the year, 5% more than the 5.3 million offered in 2024. This figure marks a new historic milestone for the airline.
This growth will mean that Iberia will operate more than 350 flights across the Atlantic in 2025 to connect Latin America with Europe in a week, surpassing the 330 weekly frequencies achieved in some periods of the previous year.
«We are very proud to present these figures on connectivity between Latin America and Europe, which help us to continue consolidating our strong leadership position between the two regions and to continue positioning ourselves as the preferred option when it comes to crossing this air corridor, especially at a time like the present, as we are about to celebrate 80 years since we became the first airline to make this journey across the Atlantic Ocean. Although our history with Latin America goes back a long way, this record is the result of a reinforcement of our commitment to the region, which we have been promoting for several years,» says Marina Colunga, Iberia’s Commercial Director for Latin America.
This milestone is reflected in significant growth in several of the markets in which Iberia operates in Latin America:
- Peru: where two daily flights have been achieved.
- Chile: will end the year with 12 weekly frequencies.
- Puerto Rico: will have up to 11 flights per week.
- Dominican Republic: will end 2025 and begin 2026 with two flights per day, except for one day of the week.
These capacity increases are in addition to other growth consolidated in the last weeks of last year, such as the increase to three daily flights to Buenos Aires and two daily flights to Sao Paulo.
Similarly, the routes to Mexico City and Bogotá have three daily flights each, while Montevideo, Quito, Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica have one flight per day. Finally, Rio de Janeiro and Caracas have five weekly flights, while Panama City, Havana and Guayaquil have three weekly flights.
It is worth mentioning that on 13 December, Iberia will begin operating its new route to the Brazilian city of Recife, where it will start operations with three weekly flights.
Madrid, getting closer and closer
Amid this increase in capacity between Latin America and Europe, Latin American customers are making greater use of the Hola Madrid stopover programme, which allows them to extend their stopover in Madrid for up to nine nights and enjoy a wide range of discounts and benefits on accommodation, leisure, gastronomy and transport in the Spanish capital.
The Hola Madrid stopover, which is free of charge, allows customers to take advantage of this stop in the city both on the way to and from any of Iberia’s other destinations in Spain, Europe or the rest of the world.
