La fijación de las tasas aeroportuarias es fundamental para los resultados financieros de los aeropuertos. Además de las preocupaciones comerciales y de mercado, muchos aeropuertos de la región de América Latina y el Caribe se enfrentan a la regulación de las tasas, que puede variar de un país a otro. Además de los problemas actuales relacionados con el establecimiento y la regulación de las tasas, los aeropuertos se enfrentan al enorme reto de recuperar la resistencia financiera en los próximos años, ya que la pandemia del COVID-19 ha tenido un impacto significativo en los aeropuertos de la región (y a nivel mundial), y especialmente para aquellos aeropuertos que dependen del tráfico turístico. Las tasas aeroportuarias y la regulación económica desempeñan un papel importante en la forma en que los aeropuertos recuperarán el tráfico perdido y el crecimiento futuro más allá de los niveles de 2019. En este seminario web se analizarán los desarrollos, las tendencias globales y la modernización de las tasas aeroportuarias y la regulación – y cuáles son las lecciones para la región de América Latina y el Caribe de cara al futuro. Por ejemplo, ¿qué necesitan saber los operadores aeroportuarios sobre las tasas y la regulación económica en un panorama posterior a la COVID-19? ¿Cómo pueden los aeropuertos utilizar las tasas aeroportuarias para incentivar el crecimiento del tráfico y, al mismo tiempo, satisfacer las necesidades de las partes interesadas en relación con factores medioambientales como el ruido y las emisiones? Este seminario web se basa en el recientemente publicado ACI-World Policy Brief sobre la modernización del marco de las tasas aeroportuarias.

The setting of airport charges is critical to the financial performance of airports. In addition to commercial and market concerns, many airports in the Latin America & Caribbean region face charges regulation, which can vary from country to country. In addition to ongoing issues regarding the setting and regulation of charges, airports face the enormous challenge of building back financial resiliency in the coming years as the COVID-19 pandemic has had significant impacts on airports in the region (and globally), and especially for those airports that rely on tourism traffic. Airport charges and economic regulation play an important role in how airports will build back their lost traffic and future growth beyond 2019 levels. This webinar will discuss developments, global trends and the modernization of airport charges and regulation – and what are the lessons for the Latin America and the Caribbean region going forward. For example, what do airport operators need to know about charges and economic regulation in a post COVID-19 landscape? How can airports use airport charges to incentivize traffic growth while also meeting the needs of stakeholders regarding environmental factors such as noise and emissions? This webinar builds upon the recently released ACI-World Policy Brief on modernizing the framework for airport charges.
