Viva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra-low-cost carrier, reports its monthly passenger figures corresponding to March 2020. The airline registered nearly 850 thousand passengers this month with a load factor of 80.5%. This represented an increase of 1% in the number of customers compared to March 2019 and a decrease in the load factor of 10.4 percentage points. This decrease was caused by the drop in de-mand resulting from the health emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the world and due to the growth in our country.
Regarding the accumulated total for the year (January-March 2020), Viva Aerobus reported 2.8 million passengers and an average load factor of 84.7%. These results, compared to the accumulated January – March 2019, implied an increase of 18% in terms of passengers and a decrease of 4.3 percentage points in the load factor.
