The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) signed an agreement to promote and facilitate access to IATA Training courses for aviation professionals in Latin America and the Caribbean.
IATA trains over 100,000 professionals and students every year around the world with more than 350 courses and 40 diplomas in the areas of management, environment, fares and ticketing, finance, human resources, education, infrastructure, operations, quality, regulations, safety, sales and marketing, and security, travel and tourism, to name a few.
“Training the human resource is a priority. With this agreement, we seek to further strengthen the development of professionals in aviation, an industry that requires the highest standards of qualification and quality. Facilitating access to training and education is key for the industry on this challenging times we are facing and to have an even safer, more efficient and environmentally responsible aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean, which will drive the economic recovery of our countries,” commented Jose Ricardo Botelho ALTA’s Executive Director & CEO.
“IATA is putting all efforts and attention identifying the key steps our industry needs to take to ensure a safe restart of operations. The IATA Training team is working hand-in-hand with our experts to design the (training) products for the aviation professionals who will need to be reskilled and right-skilled and be ready for the restart. The focus is now on HR decision-makers in careful planning to complement the appropriate staffing levels across many job categories in our industry, to provide clear career paths, and manage the retention, training, and recruitment of skilled professionals.
To support the industry’s recovery, IATA Training’s strategic direction is to provide an enhanced learner experience, using the latest technologies and best-in-class pedagogical methodology, while striving to keep costs at a minimum. The courses taught virtually and in-person by IATA Training are available for airlines, logistics, air navigation and ground handling companies, airports, civil aviation authorities, travel agencies, entities for tourism promotion. ALTA members will be able to access these courses with special discounts.
