Azul S.A., “Azul”, (B3: AZUL4, NYSE: AZUL) announces today its preliminary traffic results for April 2020.
Consolidated passenger traffic (RPKs) decreased 90.0% compared to April 2019 on a capacity decrease (ASKs) of 87.7%, resulting in a load factor of 69.8% in the domestic segment and 64.0% internationally.
“From March 25th to April 30th we operated an essential network with 70 non-stop flights per day to 25 cities, representing an 87% domestic capacity reduction year over year. The average load factor of our domestic flights was close to 70% and the essencial network is generating cash on a variable cost basis. We believe that the lowest point in demand is behind us and we expect to gradually return our flights over the coming months”, said John Rodgerson, Azul’s CEO.
