From October 24 to 26, 2021, more than 350 top executives from the commercial aviation industry and government representatives will gather in Bogota, Colombia, to conduct a high-level international dialogue, which will be converted into a proactive agenda with concrete actions aimed at promoting even safer, more efficient and sustainable aviation in Latin America and Caribbean.
The ALTA Airline Leaders Forum academic agenda includes the participation of more than 50 speakers with extensive experience and industry knowledge, as well as representatives from the public sector in Colombia and the region, among them the official opening of the President of Colombia, Dr. Iván Duque.
ALTA’s AGM and Airline Leaders Forum is the most important in person meeting of commercial aviation leaders in Latin America and Caribbean with nearly 20 years of existence. The positive response and enthusiasm we have received in this edition demonstrates the commitment of the leaders of this sector to developing a collaborative and proactive work agenda along the entire value chain. In this recovery process, our region has great potential, and we have the challenge of, together, taking the right measures to bring opportunities to every corner and to more and more people through connectivity and air transport.,” comments José Ricardo Botelho, ALTA’s Executive Director & CEO.
Among the topics on the agenda are: the future of travel in the Americas and the Caribbean; the needs on fleet, financing and leasing; air cargo and its role in the fight against COVID-19; green runway, the path to more sustainable air transport; best practices of international hubs; infrastructure; the Colombian market; and a talk among ministers of tourism about best practices in the Latin American y Caribbean region, how to adapt to new traveler needs, and opportunities for interregional collaboration to jointly develop destinations.
“This edition of ALTA Airline Leaders Forum will be held in Colombia, a beautiful country with a mountainous geography which makes it imperative to use air transportation to move around safely and efficiently. A couple of weeks ago, ALTA visited industry companies operating in the country and authorities, taking into consideration the existing challenges with the aim that all stakeholders make the necessary and urgent decisions to capture all the potential that will generate benefits for users and, finally, for the population. From ALTA we want to promote joint work to develop an essential service for the population,” Botelho added.
ALTA is a pioneer in resuming face-to-face events: first, in December 2020 with a technical event (ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference), where 200 people participated in Mexico and zero contagions; then in the Dominican Republic in August 2021 with 500 people participating and zero contagions. Now, ALTA lands in Bogota to gather aviation decision makers in a new successful event with proactive discussions and a collaborative work agenda.
