Volaris signs a new purchase order for 39 A321neo aircraft

Source: Volaris Volaris (the "Company") (NYSE: VLRS) and (BMV: VOLAR), the ultra-low-cost airline serving Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, reports that it signed a new purchase order with Airbus for 39 A321neo aircraft, securing its growth in the second half of the decade. This order is part of the agreement to purchase 255 aircraft carried out jointly by the airlines Wizz Air, Frontier, JetSMART, and Volaris, announced yesterday by Indigo Partners and Airbus. In addition to the acquisition of these 39 aircraft, Volaris negotiated with Airbus 20 conversions from A320neo to A321neo aircraft of its current order.

ICAO Council approves CORSIA Sustainability Criteria for sustainable aviation fuels

LATAM closes the third quarter with continued revenue improvements and expects to end the year operating over 65% of the 2019 capacity

Source: LATAM Alongside the publication of its results for the third quarter of the year, the LATAM group reported that it noted a continued improvement in its revenues during the period, reaching US$1,314 million, which represents an increase of 47.8% compared to the second quarter of 2021 and 156.1% compared to the third quarter of 2020. Despite this improved performance, total revenues for the third quarter are 50.7% below 2019 as a result of the ongoing effects of the pandemic. September Airline Industry Employment Dips Slightly from August, Remains 3.3% Below Pre-Pandemic September 2019

Source: US DOT U.S. airlines employed 718,111 workers in September 2021, which is 814 (0.1%) fewer workers than in August 2021 and 24,289 (3.3%) fewer than in pre-pandemic September 2019. The September industry-wide numbers include 615,352 full-time and 103,459 part-time workers, an increase from August of 753 full-time workers and a decrease of 1,567 part-time workers. As of September, the U.S. airline industry is operating with 34,571 fewer employees (4.6%) than at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Global airline share price index ticked down in October, reflecting investors’ concerns about the impact of rising jet fuel prices on airlines’ financial recovery. The performance gap between wider equity markets and airline stocks widened. IATA certifies Aeroméxico in pharmaceutical products transportation

Source: Aeromexico Aeromexico has joined a select group of companies with the CEIV Pharma (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics) certification, awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The certificate is the result of the processes, infrastructure, equipment, operations, and qualified personnel that guarantee compliance with the highest standards for transporting temperature-controlled pharmaceutical products. U.S. DOT delivers new assistance to protect aviation manufacturing jobs—and reopens application process one last time

Source: US DOT The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today announced that it will offer an additional $184 million in funding provided by the American Rescue Plan to 158 more aviation manufacturing businesses. The Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection Program (AMJP) is helping protect nearly 30,000 American manufacturing jobs across 41 states and Puerto Rico. These new awards, combined with the first round of funding in September, brings the total to $626* million to help protect aviation manufacturing jobs. At the same time, DOT has announced that it will reopen the application process one last time. Final applications will be due on Monday, December 13, 2021.
