JetBlue Expands Use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel as Part of its Strategy to Achieve Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2040

Source: JetBlue JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) has entered into a new relationship with World Energy and World Fuel Services for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). JetBlue’s LAX flights using SAF started this month. This increase in the airline’s usage of SAF includes 1.5 million gallons of blended SAF a year for at least three years, accounting for approximately five percent of JetBlue’s LAX fuel. Renewable fuel options will play a critical role in the aviation industry’s transition to lower-carbon operations. U.S. Airlines May 2021 Fuel Use Up 9.4% from April

Porter Airlines Orders up to 80 Embraer E195-E2s to Lead Major Expansion Plan

Source: Embraer Porter Airlines has unveiled plans to extend its award-winning service to destinations throughout North America with a firm order for 30 Embraer E195-E2 jets, with purchase rights for a further 50 aircraft. The deal will be included in Embraer’s second quarter backlog, and is worth USD5.82 billion, at list price with all options exercised. BBAM Orders 12 Additional 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters

Source: Boeing Boeing [NYSE: BA] and BBAM Limited Partnership (BBAM) today announced that the lessor is expanding its 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter fleet with 12 additional firm orders. The agreement brings BBAM’s 737-800BCF orders and commitments to 31 as e-commerce and express cargo markets continue to drive strong customer demand for freighters. BBAM will be the first customer to have a 737-800BCF converted at Cooperativa Autogestionaria de Servicios Aeroindustriales (COOPESA), a Costa Rica-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider. Istanbul Airport first to earn ACI reaccreditation for COVID-19 health measures

Source: ACI Airports Council International (ACI) World and ACI EUROPE have today announced that Istanbul Airport is the first airport in the world to be reaccredited through the Airport Health Accreditation programme. Accreditation is granted for 12 months.
