IATA Launches Self Registration Portal for IATA Travel Pass Lab Network

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has launched a self-registration portal to make it easier for COVID-19 testing labs to join the IATA Travel Pass Lab Network. IATA’s Lab Network provides a list of eligible lab locations around the globe so that travelers can easily find a location for a COVID-19 test prior to travel.  The newly launched portal provides a one-stop-shop for labs to self-register to be included in the Network. Labs wishing to join the IATA Lab Network should confirm that they meet the eligibility *criteria* and register through the new Self Registration Portal. Air Canada Introduces a Digital Solution to Simplify COVID-19 Related Travel Requirements

Source: Air Canada Air Canada is launching a trial of a new digital solution available through its mobile app for customers to securely scan, upload and verify their COVID-19 test results. This feature will help travellers conveniently validate compliance with government health travel requirements prior to arriving at the airport. U.S. Passenger Airline Employment Down in April 2021 from March

Source: US DOT   The 23 U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 0.9% fewer full-time equivalents (FTEs) in April 2021 than in March 2021: April’s total number of FTEs (391,501) was down 3,562 from March (395,063) and down 70,096, a 15.2% drop from the onset of the pandemic in March 2020 (461,597). April 2021 was the lowest FTE total for the month of April since 2014 (384,265). April 2021, scheduled passenger airlines employed 60% of the total airline industry FTEs, down from 63% in March 2020. Southwest Announces 2022 Executive Leadership Plans

Helvetic Airways Receives Its First Embraer E195-E2

Source: Embraer Helvetic Airways of Switzerland received the first of four new E195-E2 aircraft today at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos. Helvetic will receive three further E195-E2s by the end of next month, July 2021. Helvetic ordered 12 E-Jet E2s in 2018 to support its fleet renewal initiative: 8 E190-E2s (already in service) and four E195-E2s (converted from the original E190-E2 order). The airline also holds purchase rights for an additional 12 aircraft. The Helvetic fleet also includes four first-generation E190s.
