January 2026 U.S. Airline Traffic Data Down 1.8% from the Same Month Last Year

U.S. airlines carried 69.5 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in January 2026, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). When adjusted for seasonality, January enplanements are down 1.1% from December and down 3.7% from the all-time high reached in June 2024.
