- London Gatwick airport, member of VINCI Airports’ worldwide network, welcomes for the first time in its history the airline JetBlue. Last week, the sixth largest US airline took its inaugural flight linking London Gatwick to New York (JFK) with a new, non-stop service.
Initially, the route will be operated four times per week with an expansion to a daily itinerary in November. In line with creating positive mobility for the territories in which VINCI Airports operates, JetBlue’s arrival at the airport is excellent news for passengers and for local economy. It comes at the right time for the long-awaited easing of US entry requirements for travellers from the UK and other European destinations. JetBlue’s newly acquired Airbus A321 Long Range aircraft will be deployed on this route.
Stewart Wingate, the CEO of London Gatwick airport said: “I’m delighted and excited to welcome JetBlue to Gatwick. London to New York is historically the world’s most popular international route and – given JetBlue’s extremely competitive pricing and high-quality service – I expect this new route to be in high demand.”
