The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) is pleased to welcome COOPRESA (Cooperativa Dos Prestadores De Serviços Autônomos De Lagoa Santa) as its new affiliate member.

COOPRESA was founded in 1997 aiming to provide aircraft and component maintenance services with specialized human talent and constant technological innovation. Among COOPRESA’s services are component overhaul and maintenance, hangar cleaning and maintenance, outsourcing, certification of companies governed by RBAC No. 145 and EASA, PTM management, PCA and PCP services, aircraft cleaning, obtaining station permits, booking and transferring registrations, validation of foreign projects (STC) with ANAC, approval of experimental aircraft with ANAC, among others that solve the technical and maintenance needs of its partners and customers

“On behalf of ALTA, I am pleased to welcome COOPRESA as a new affiliate member and as an ally who will bring important value to the initiatives of ALTA’s Maintenance Committee, as well as to all our members. With the arrival of COOPRESA to ALTA, the association counts with the largest MROs in the region, all of them with the experience and highest standards to provide the best service to the operators in the region and support them in this path of recovery. Aviation will again this year play a key role as an enabler of recovery and socio-economic development opportunities for the people in the region. We feel enthusiastic about starting to work along with COOPRESA,” comments ALTA’s Executive Director and CEO, José Ricardo Botelho.

Lívia Duarte, President of COOPRESA, comments: “Unlike private sector companies, cooperatives do not focus primarily on profit, but on the well-being of all their members, contributing to improvements in social indicators and the local economy, fighting social exclusion. For companies, aircraft maintenance performed through cooperatives is transformative and sometimes necessary, since among our characteristics that we can highlight the most is the flexibility and ability to adapt to the seasonal needs of airlines, air taxis and maintenance centers. We can quickly increase or decrease the number of Cooperators within the contractors, to adjust to the demand and capacity of customers”.

“The generation of efficiencies in the areas of technical purchasing and maintenance translates into better possibilities for the development of aviation and ALTA is a pioneer in holding annual meetings among airlines, suppliers and service providers to share best practices, generate and strengthen relationships, as well as developing business opportunities. This year we will meet in-person once again at the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference to be held in Cartagena from May 15-17. It will be our first conference of the 2022 and we are confident that it will provide a key space to continue working together for the recovery of the sector”, Botelho added.
