The company, which has more than 700 employees, has recently launched a growth plan to double the number of passengers. Today it has 5 Boeing 737-800 NG 189-seat single-class aircraft and in the next months will receive the next aircraft until reaching a fleet of 10. Its flight network currently has 14 domestic destinations: Buenos Aires, Bariloche, Corrientes, Córdoba, Jujuy, Mendoza, Neuquén, Posadas, Iguazú, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Trelew, Tucumán and Ushuaia. And since January 2022 it started to recover its international destinations to Brazil and Uruguay: Florianópolis, Río de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Punta del Este.
“We are very pleased to welcome the Flybondi team to ALTA. By joining the association further enhances our efforts to consolidate a solid, robust, community-based and sustainable aviation industry in Latin America and Caribbean providing more opportunities for efficient and safe transportation to many more people”, comments José Ricardo Botelho, ALTA’s Executive Director and CEO.
Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi indicated that “we are very enthusiastic about joining ALTA and convinced that this is the best time to do it. After the pandemic, I think all of us in the industry understood that there was great potential for recovery but that it requires us to work collaboratively for a faster and also sustainable recovery. We all need to look at the same agenda of priorities in order to boost the activity in each Latin American country.”
ALTA’s Executive Director and CEO took advantage of this opportunity to add that “from October 16-18, 2022 we will be holding the 18th ALTA AGM & Airline Leaders Forum in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is the most important meeting for air transport leaders in the region and we are convinced that it will be a great opportunity to meet in a country with a huge tourism potential that we hope to help develop. Having Flybondi among our member airlines is a source of pride and an important value in our path towards this purpose.”
