Air Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Goldair Airline Services as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in Greece and Cyprus.
This strategic Partnership is planned to increase recognition and to best promote the presence of Air Canada in Greece and Cyprus, mainly focusing on increasing the number of tourists between Greece and Canada and on the optimization of Air Canada’s marine product sales.
Air Canada is Canada’s largest airline and the largest provider of scheduled passenger services in the Canadian market, the Canada-U.S. transborder market and in the international market to and from Canada. In 2019, it was among the top 20 largest airlines in the world. Air Canada is a founding member of Star Alliance, providing the world’s most comprehensive air transportation network.
Air Canada daily flights from Athens to Toronto and Montreal will be operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft, accommodating 400 passengers to each destination. Air Canada offers a choice of a three-class cabin offering comfort throughout the journey with Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class. All flights are scheduled in line with connectivity to Air Canada’s extensive North American network, including 46 airports in the US.

The GSA’s role is to further enhance Air Canada’s strong position in Greece & Cyprus. The GSA will be conducting efficient and strategic commercial activities while strengthening Air Canada’s brand awareness in both regions. The GSA will be focusing on maximizing revenues from ticket sales through Greece & Cyprus Markets encouraging Trade Partners to select and take preference to Air Canada as their first-choice airline. Both Leisure and Marine Traffic are important segments for Air Canada.
The new partnership is a major challenge for Goldair Group family, since it signals the restart of the post Covid era and the perspective of the leisure business growth among Canada & Greece. At the same time, it indicates the perspective born by the highly developed marine industry in Greece which provides a large percentage of marine sales that is generated through GR & CY Markets. Goldair will focus on AC’s further sales growth and on maximizing AC’s Market Share through both territories, Goldair’s Deputy Managing Director, Nikos Sofiadis, stated.
