On closing the second quarter of 2022, IAMA is able to share and highlight the following accomplishments during the last half a year:
Many of our members have successfully completed their prescribed audits, and the first official IAMA-endorsed Supplemental Type Certificates from Lufthansa Technik , Eclipse Technics, and CarlisleIT are available.
An IAMA-endorsed STC is a high-quality STC that follows a set of operational and functional rules that define a commonly agreed framework for the complete modification life cycle, providing standards and best practices for a predictable quality. In addition, it clarifies the modification’s processes and attributes that solve industry hurdles for stakeholders throughout the life cycle.
If Airlines or lessors are interested in an IAMA-endorsed STC, they can reach out to our members, and they will be able to provide a high-quality STC. Furthermore, they can actively inquire their selected design organization to provide you with an IAMA-endorsed STC.
Just recently, we released the IAMA Rulebook Version 3.0. The Rulebook is the document holding the IAMA Standard. Since the initial release, we have refined the Rulebook based on new industry challenges. The updated version incorporates rules addressing industry challenges regarding the request for proposal clarity, after-sales commitments, de-modification considerations, and others.
We continue to increase our library of resources. For example, we have developed a new white paper on ‘Data Access Requirements’ to provide transparency on the data exchange required for aircraft modification between an STC supplier/prime integrator/Design Approval Holder and 3rd party parts manufacturers. Our most recent white paper outlines the issues around commercial Right-to-Use and the steps IAMA members take to ensure aircraft owners have all relevant data and information to conduct a seamless asset transfer.
