Querétaro Intercontinental Airport achieves Level 2 Reduction of the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program. In Level 2 “Reduction” of Airport Carbon Accreditation, airports must establish their carbon management and move towards a reduced carbon footprint.

The ACA program is the only carbon management standard certification for the airport sector, with the objective of achieving carbon neutrality at airports worldwide through 6 levels of certification: mapping, reduction, optimization, neutrality, transformation and transition; each level seeks to recognize the efforts of airports that are at different stages on the road to comprehensive carbon management.

Dr. Rafael Echevarne, General Director of ACI-LAC recognized the commitment of the airport team for seeking neutrality and managing carbon emissions more efficiently, while extending his congratulations for achieving level 2 reduction in the ACA program. ACI-LAC is proud that the Intercontinental Airport of Queretaro is part of the 54 airports in the region accredited in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program,” he said.

Carlos Aguilar, Airport Administrator of Queretaro Intercontinental Airport said “We are very honored and proud to receive this important certification, which ratifies our commitment to continue working to achieve the next levels in the years to come”. He also recognized the work team at Querétaro Intercontinental Airport for completing the project to achieve ACA Levels 1 and 2.

With this recognition, the Querétaro Intercontinental Airport confirms the region’s commitment to carbon management and the efficient use of infrastructure and resources, in line with the ACA program and the Decarbonization Trajectories led by ACI and the Government of the State of Querétaro.
