- Delhi International Airport, Hyderabad International Airport, and Goa Manohar Airport Push Self Service Adoption
Embross Systems a global leader in passenger self-service technology, today announced it has deployed Embross’ VelocityOne (V1) kiosks at three leading airports across India.
As part of an ongoing project, Embross has been deploying multiple hundreds of its state-of-the-art kiosks along with custom Embross software at various terminals of the GMR Delhi, Hyderabad and the newly opened Goa Manohar International Airports in India, to provide a faster and seamless experience for travellers. In addition, Embross will also continue to manage the daily operation and maintenance of these kiosks on 24X7 basis as per the well-defined strict airport SLA requirements. The V1’s extensive array of component options, print capacity and modular expandability will deliver long-life cycle utilisation to meet current as well as future needs as passenger service automation continues to grow in the fastest growing economy which is experiencing explosive aviation market growth.
This welcome deployment will see the V1’s deployed in the departure area to assist passengers with their self-service check in requirements including seat assignments, boarding pass printing, baggage tag printing and more while cutting their check in time and reducing passenger queues drastically. The Airports selected the V1 for its slimline footprint, modern attractive design, passenger friendly functionality and intuitive next generation technology.
In addition, the plan is to augment the number of kiosks in line with increasing demand triggered by passenger growth and also boost passenger convenience by implementing specialized V1 outdoor kiosks which are robust and equipped to withstand extreme Indian weather conditions. The state-of-the-art kiosks can be upgraded with contactless biometric capabilities to support the Government’s DigiYatra initiative and deliver the full spectrum of service capability. By implementing the V1 kiosks, the airports ensure streamlined passenger processing while improving airport efficiency while maximizing the terminal space within the airport. This will help all the airports to master the ever-changing conditions of the aviation industry.
According to Skytrax, the international air transport rating organization, the Delhi and Hyderabad International Airports have been adjudged the best airport and the best regional airport in India and South Asia respectively, while the newly opened Goa Manohar International Airport won the best Sustainable Greenfield Airport Award under Aviation Sustainability and Environment at the ASSOCHAM 14th International Conference. From superior user experience and security to screen resolution, Embross’ V1 leverages best in-class features, purposefully designed to meet the needs of the most demanding airport environments.
Maneesh Jaikrishna, Embross Regional Vice President for ME, APAC, Eastern & Southern Africa stated, “This self-service kiosk technology deployment will enable the airlines operating out of these airports to enjoy the shared benefits of common use IT systems and facilities, while reducing the check in time for passengers immensely. In view of the encouraging travel rebound after COVID and the explosive growth in passenger traffic being projected in India, this would maximise the terminal spaces, thereby helping all stakeholders to optimise operational efficiency and reduce costs.”
