The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) is pleased to announce that ATIO® Group, a technology company for fuel supply automation and control in Latin America, joins as an affiliate member.
Having nearly 30 years of trajectory, ATIO® Group covers all of Latin America from its corporate headquarters in Mexico City, its regional offices in Miami, Buenos Aires and a network of 20 authorized distributors throughout the region.
ATIO® Group provides aircraft fueling automation services with its FuelGATE product, installed in over 60 airports in Mexico and in more than 25 airports in South America. Regarding FuelGATE, ATIO® Group is building an ecosystem that allows the exchange of information with airlines, providing instant information for their operation.
FuelGATE® at work
FuelGATE® is the first and only aviation fuel management system designed specifically for Latin America to provide efficiency and accuracy in the supply of fuel at airports in the region. This software is designed to cover all the requirements of airside fuel supply, developed entirely in Spanish and completely adjustable to the unique needs of each airport.
The system enables fuel management, from receipt at the fuel plant to the supply to each aircraft inside the airports, recording the exact amount of fuel, date and time of service, since it is interconnected with the electronic meters, and through its interface is able to know in advance the type of aircraft, registration number, tariffs and airline supplied.
FuelGATE is installed in the supply vehicles and in the fuel inlet and outlet lines where the system enables the control of the metering instruments.
Each transaction is recorded in the FuelGATE system and on a ticket, unalterable, and can be managed for reporting as best suits each customers’ needs.
In 2011, the technological solution won a tender from Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA) in Mexico, also an ALTA member, providing a solution that automatically and in real-time registers fuel supply services, connecting to central systems to calculate current tariffs and taxes, eliminating manual intervention and the associated mistakes. After the installation and operation in the 3 airports foreseen by the tender (Mexico City, Toluca and Merida), it was decided to implement it in the remaining airports, thus completing the automation of the 61 airports in the country in 2013.
“We are very pleased with the arrival of ATIO® Group to ALTA, as we are convinced that technology is a key pillar to continue generating efficiencies, improving processes and making aviation the safest and most efficient means of transport. Being able to record information in real-time, connect that information with stakeholders and support data processing is key to streamline processes, reduce associated mistakes and costs, as well as make better use of resources. Aviation is an ecosystem that does not stop and technology works in unison,” said Jose Ricardo Botelho, ALTA’s Executive Director & CEO.
“As leaders in our region, we are proud to join ALTA, a prestigious association that will allow us to improve communication and synergies in Latin America for our FuelGATE® product in the constant search for benefits for airports and airlines, such as what our customers in Mexico, Colombia and Peru already enjoy, providing quality and efficiency with an in-house technological development in Spanish. As experts in providing technology for the automation and control of the entire fuel chain supply, we are confident that we will continue to expand in Latin America, both in public and private airports,” said Pablo César Gualdi, President, CEO and founder of ATIO® Group.
