Viva Aerobus announced its August 2023 preliminary traffic results. Viva Aerobus’ passenger traffic increased 25.4% compared to August 2022, reaching 2.4 million passengers, driven by an increase of 25.3% and 26.2% in domestic and international traffic, respectively. Load factors reached 88.1% compared to 85.7% in 2022, with a load factor mix of 89.0% and 83.5% in domestic and international, respectively.

Viva Aerobus grew its total capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) by 18.2% compared to August 2022, reflecting an increase of 18.3% and 17.9% in domestic and international, respectively.

“The summer season ended strong. August traffic reached 2.4 million passengers, marking the fifth consecutive month with over 2 million passengers, on a high load factor of 88.1%. Our domestic market load factor remained robust at 89.0%, reflecting our disciplined capacity deployment. Our unique and well-positioned network continues to support our profitable growth in the Mexican market, and we will remain highly focused as we enter a slower seasonal period in September.” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.
