Viva Aerobus announced its September 2023 preliminary traffic results. Viva Aerobus’ passenger traffic increased 29.5% compared to September 2022, reaching 2.1 million passengers, driven by an increase of 29.0% and 34.3% in domestic and international traffic, respectively. Load factors reached 86.5% compared to 84.1% in 2022, with a load factor mix of 87.4% and 81.9% in domestic and international, respectively.
Viva Aerobus grew its total capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) by 23.0% compared to September 2022, reflecting an increase of 23.4% and 21.3% in domestic and international, respectively.
“September demand remained robust as we reached more than 2.1 million passengers, our third highest month in the year and sixth consecutive month with over 2 million passengers, despite September being a slow seasonal month. The load factor was up 2.4 pp, benefiting from a strong underlying market in both the domestic and international markets and reflecting our disciplined approach toward capacity. The Category 1 recovery was great news for the Mexican aviation market, and we are excited with the opportunities that lie ahead for the company in the US- Mexico market.” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus
