Flybondi, the first low-cost airline in Argentina, has been authorized and certified by the Argentine Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC, for its acronym in Spanish) to provide handling services to other airlines. As a result, Flybondi has become the first Argentine airline authorized to provide this type of services to third parties.
Baggage, cargo and ramp handling services entail ground handling operations for aircraft, including pushback procedures; aircraft marshalling; coordination and supervision of all operations relating to aircraft, both on the ramp, apron, and onboard the plane; deicing operations; transport of passengers via buses from the terminal to the aircraft; placement of passenger stairs for the boarding and disembarking of passengers; and handling services for loading and unloading baggage; among others.
Flybondi has its own handling services at the International Ezeiza Airport and in most of the other provinces where it operates (except for Aeroparque, Ushuaia, El Calafate and Comodoro Rivadavia). Throughout the years, the company’s ramp operations have been leveled-up to international standards which allows an efficient, reliable and safe performance.
“Since 2018 at Flybondi, we have managed our own handling services in 80% of the airports where we operate. Now, we are certified to provide these services to other airlines. This is a huge step towards the growth of the commercial aviation industry in Argentina, by offering a new option to other national and international airlines while consolidating the strength of our operations,” said Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi.
