Viva Aerobus announced its August 2024 preliminary traffic results. Viva Aerobus’ passenger traffic increased 5.8% compared to August 2023, reaching 2.5 million passengers, driven by an increase of 5.7% and 6.1% in domestic and international traffic, respectively. Load factors reached 89.2% compared to 88.6% in 2023, with a load factor mix of 90.5% and 82.6% in domestic and international, respectively.

Viva Aerobus grew its total capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) by 6.2% compared to August 2023, reflecting an increase of 4.9% and 12.3% in domestic and international, respectively.

“We closed the summer season with strong passenger demand and healthy load factors, supported by a robust market where demand outpaced capacity growth.

As we enter a slower seasonal period in September, we remain highly focused on disciplined capacity deployment. We are also closely monitoring our fleet, given the continued grounding of aircraft due to the P&W engine recall crisis, and are taking measures to minimize the impact on our operations”, said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.
