- ACI-LAC Annual Assembly Conference & Exhibition 2024 kicks off this Sunday in Mexico; press conference will be streamed.
Guadalajara, Mexico, hosts the 2024 edition of the Airports Council International Latin America and Caribbean Annual Assembly & Conference – ACI-LAC Annual Assembly Conference & Exhibition, the main event for the region’s airport market. Around 400 participants are more than at Expo Guadalajara, including leading industry executives, government and airport authorities and experts in aviation, technology, the environment, accessibility, management and finance. Present at the opening of the event will be Mónika Infante, President of the ACI-LAC Board of Directors, the Director General of ACI World, Justin Erbacci, Rafael Echevarne, director general of ACI-LAC, and Raúl Revuelta Musalem, CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), host of the event.
Encouraging innovation and sustainability
For the second year, the ACI-LAC Annual Assembly Conference & Exhibition will highlight young talents who are part of teams at ACI-LAC member airports and contribute innovations to the airport industry. In 2024, the Young Professional Award will reward an initiative that highlights the use of artificial intelligence in airport processes that have an impact on improving the passenger experience and optimizing resources. The award is sponsored by SITA, ACI-LAC’s World Business Partner (WBP).
Also during the conference, through the Green Airport Recognition award, ACI-LAC will also recognize the initiatives of member airports which, during the year, have promoted or implemented circular economy solutions, which include airport environmental management, such as waste management, energy efficiency, carbon emissions management. This initiative has the support of ACI-LAC’s Environment Committee.
Caribbean and Regional Airports Summit
The main issues relating to the challenges of regional aviation in the Caribbean will be discussed at the Caribbean Regional Airports Summit at the end of the academic agenda on November 12. The development of airport infrastructure, airport business planning and increasing connectivity in the region will be up for debate among the panelists.
ACI-LAC’s director general, Rafael Echevarne, highlights the importance of this airport industry meeting as a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, best practices and ways of finding solutions to common challenges.
“Taking an active part in this event is key to keeping up to date with the latest trends and developments in the airport industry and strengthening relevant relationships that will propel our sector into the future. I invite the entire airport community to join us in Guadalajara on November 11 and 12 to contribute to our common goal of raising the standards of our industry in order to ensure continued growth and success,” commented Echevarne.

On November 11, at 10:30 am (local time), ACI-LAC gathers journalists for a press conference, where it will present the latest data on the airport industry in Latin America and the Caribbean and details about the event’s programming.
