DOT Secures Nearly $1 Billion in Refunds to Airline Passengers Through New Enforcement Actions

Source: US DOT Under President Biden, DOT has helped secure nearly $4 billion in refunds and reimbursements to airline passengers  The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced enforcement actions against Lufthansa, South African Airways, and KLM Royal Dutch Airways for extreme delays in providing more than $900 million in refunds owed to passengers due to flights cancelled or significantly changed in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. IATA Unveils SAF Registry​

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that it will establish the SAF Registry (Registry) to accelerate the uptake of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) by authoritatively accounting and reporting emissions reductions from SAF. Seventeen airlines, one airline group, six national authorities, three Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and one fuel producer are already supporting the effort to develop the Registry. The Registry is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025. American sends World War II veterans off in honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day
