- With this initiative, Iberia aims to promote the pilot profession and engage the most qualified professionals by participating in their training and helping to finance their education.
- Interested candidates can submit their applications starting today, May 12, here.
- A maximum of 12 cadets will be selected to begin their training at FTEJerez in the last quarter of 2025
Iberia has announced the launch of a new edition of its cadet programme in partnership with the prestigious airline pilot school, FTEJerez (Flight Training Europe).
From May 12 to May 25, those interested in becoming pilots can submit their applications through Iberia’s employment website, where they will find details about the requirements and conditions of this program, designed by Iberia to identify the most suitable candidates and provide them with financial support for their training.
Through close collaboration between Iberia and FTEJerez, candidates are selected to participate in a training programme that will allow them to obtain the ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License), financed approximately 50% and interest-free by Iberia. The airline also supervises the students’ training, periodically evaluating their performance and progress.
The Iberia Cadet Program not only aims to train pilots but also to foster a passion for this profession among young people, offering them advantageous conditions to pursue their dreams.
Once they have completed their studies in Jerez, Iberia is committed to facilitating the integration of these cadets into the job market through the Iberia Group, allowing them to start repaying Iberia’s contribution to their studies.
To date, Iberia has integrated 51 pilots from previous editions of the program. Now, 12 candidates will be selected to begin their training in September 2025.
Óscar Sordo, CEO of FTEJerez, commented: “We are proud that Iberia continues to rely on FTEJerez to drive its next generation of pilots. This new edition of the cadet program reaffirms the trust placed in our centre and highlights the momentum of commercial aviation, with a horizon full of opportunities for future professionals in the sector.”
Ramiro Sequeira, Iberia’s Production Director, added: “We are at a decisive moment for training new generations in technical professions, especially in aviation. The forecast of a shortage of professionals in the coming years underscores the urgent need to train new pilots who can meet the highest standards of quality and preparation. FTEJerez, with its recognized track record and excellence in pilot training, is our natural partner to face this challenge and ensure that our future pilots are perfectly prepared for the demands of the sector.”
