- More than 600 global leaders are meeting in Cancun May 18-20 to find solutions for aircraft maintenance and supply chain issues.
In 2024, operating costs for airlines based in Latin America and the Caribbean exceeded billion. Maintenance accounted for 5.9%of that total, reflecting one of the main challenges that will be addressed by 600 industry executives during the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference 2025, taking place May 18–20 in Cancun, Mexico.
The conference will focus on practical and sustainable solutions to the challenges of aircraft maintenance — a sector impacted by increased fleet utilization, rising maintenance costs, higher prices for parts and services, limited availability of new aircraft, and a shortage of qualified labor. “Currently, average lead times for narrowbody aircraft in the region reach up to 6.7 years. This forces airlines to rely more heavily on their existing fleets,” explains ALTA CEO Peter Cerdá.
The conference will feature technical panels, networking spaces, and a solution showcase (table-tops). The academic agenda includes analysis of the regional MRO landscape, digital transformation in the supply chain, the use of PMA parts to mitigate bottlenecks, and the challenges faced by MRO centers amid rising demand.
