Focus on Caribbean Air Connectivity

A central topic will be the state of air connectivity in the Caribbean, highlighting the challenges faced by small island markets and the vital role of aviation in driving tourism and regional economic development.

Challenges of Market Concentration

The conference will also address the concentration of the air transport market and its impact on regional aviation growth. Experts and government representatives will explore ways to boost competitiveness, expand connectivity options, and strengthen local routes.

Resilient Infrastructure in the Face of Climate Crisis

Another key theme will be the need to build airport infrastructure that is resilient to climate change. Discussions will center on risk mitigation, operational safety, and preparing terminals for increasingly extreme weather events.

Airports as Business Engines

The role of airports as hubs of economic and business development will be examined, showing how air terminals go beyond their operational function to become centers of investment, job creation, and international trade.

“The ACI-LAC Annual Conference 2025 will be a space to better understand how airports in our region are tackling today’s challenges. This year, we’ll focus especially on the Caribbean, where flying isn’t just an option—it’s a necessity due to its geography. We’re confident that the topics discussed will help us think together about real solutions, reinforcing this event as the most important meeting point for sharing ideas and experiences in the airport industry across Latin America and the Caribbean.” highlighted Dr. Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI-LAC
