Airports Council International Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) is pleased to announce the incorporation of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA), operator of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, as its newest airport member.

Located just northeast of Basseterre on the island of St. Kitts, Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport is the primary gateway to the nation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Formerly known as Golden Rock Airport, the facility was renamed in honor of Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, the first Premier of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla.

The airport has undergone significant modernization, including a major renovation completed in December 2006 that expanded the parking apron to accommodate six wide-bodied aircraft simultaneously, resurfaced its 8,002 ft runway, and added a new taxiway. With the ability to welcome jumbo jets and provide services for scheduled international flights to North America, regional Caribbean routes, cargo operations, and private aviation, the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport plays a vital role in regional connectivity and tourism growth.

Highlighting its capacity, the airport has hosted large aircraft operations, including the Boeing 747-400 and a historic nearly 10,000-mile charter flight in 2011 by a SriLankan Airlines Airbus A340-300, which set a milestone in the island’s aviation history.

Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI-LAC, welcomed SCASPA into ACI-LAC airports network and said “we are delighted to welcome SCASPA and Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport into the ACI-LAC network. Their commitment to modern infrastructure, regional connectivity, and operational excellence reinforces the importance of airports in driving economic and social development across the Caribbean. We look forward to supporting SCASPA in strengthening its role as a vital hub for the region.”

“We are honored to join the Airports Council International Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) network. This membership reflects SCASPA’s ongoing commitment to excellence, connectivity, and sustainable growth. As the operator of Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, we look forward to collaborating with regional and international partners to strengthen our role as a vital hub for tourism, trade, and innovation in the Caribbean. Together, we can enhance opportunities that benefit our people, our industry, and the wider region,” commented Ms. Adeola Moore, CEO, St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA).

With SCASPA’s membership, ACI-LAC continues to expand its reach across the Caribbean, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and sustainable growth in the airport industry.
