Iberia is once again strengthening its significant commitment to Mexico, one of the key markets within its global network, with the opening of the route between Madrid and Monterrey, which will begin operating on 2 June 2026.
This route will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The scheduled flight schedule will depart Madrid at 13:10, arriving in Monterrey at 17:05 the same day. The return flight from the Mexican city will depart at 18:35, arriving at 13:05 the following day.
This route will be operated with an Airbus A330-200, a state-of-the-art wide-body (twin-aisle) aircraft with capacity for 288 passengers, distributed across the Business and Economy cabins.
Iberia flights will depart from Terminal A at Monterrey International Airport.
“We are reinforcing our commitment to such an important, strategic, and beloved market as Mexico. Today we officially announce our route between Madrid and Monterrey, which will begin operating in the summer season of 2026. This, combined with the three daily flights we operate to Mexico City, will allow us to offer more than 800,000 seats connecting both countries, a historic figure in the long history between Iberia and the Mexican market,” said María Jesús López Solás, Director of Sales, Customers, Network and Alliances at Iberia.
A Growing Commitment to Mexico
Thanks to the opening of this route, Iberia will offer over 800,000 seats connecting Mexico with Europe by 2026, a figure currently unmatched by any other market in Latin America within the airline’s network.
Specifically, in addition to the more than 770,000 seats that will connect Mexico City with Madrid via the three daily flights Iberia currently operates with an A350 over the year, the Monterrey route will add around 40,000 additional seats during the European summer season, from June to October.
It is also worth mentioning that this route will be extended beyond the summer and will continue to operate into the winter season, with the schedule to be announced soon.
