LATAM Airlines Peru has informed of the decision to suspend the launch of its direct Lima-Orlando (MCO) route, which was originally scheduled for October 26, 2025.

As a company, we see that the proper conditions are not in place to start a new route, considering the collection of the Unified Airport Use Fee (TUUA) for Transfer that the concessionaire Lima Airport Partners (LAP) announced it will begin charging from next October 27. This fee directly impacts the competitiveness of the route, which is composed of approximately 50% of connecting passengers, making travel more expensive and making Lima less attractive compared to regional hubs that do not charge this fee.

The launch of the Lima-Orlando (MCO) and Orlando-Lima routes will be suspended, until further notice.

Alternatives for affected customers

Passengers who have purchased tickets to travel on these routes between October 26 and November 30, 2025 will be notified with a protective flight connecting through other hubs. If the passengers do not agree with the proposed itinerary, they may choose one of the following alternatives at no cost, which will be available in the “My Trips” section:

  • Change of date in the same cabin, subject to availability, or,
  • Change of flight/route in the same cabin, passing through other hubs or choosing Miami as an alternative to Orlando; or,
  • Full refund of the ticket and ancilliary services bought with Latam.

DOT regulation for passengers traveling from/to the USA

If the passengers reject the change options or do not take any action regarding the ticket before the departure time of the original flight, the refund of the ticket and optional services (“ancillaries”) purchased for this trip with Latam will be automatically processed. The credit will be reflected within 7 business days if the payment was made with a credit card, or 20 business days if another payment method was used.

If the purchase was made through a travel agency, you must contact your travel agency directly to manage your trip.
