Delta Air Lines is celebrating milestones in Latin America: 25 years of service in Santiago de Chile and Bogotá, 10 years in Cartagena and 100 years since its founding. These anniversaries also align with the third year of the Delta–LATAM Joint Venture; a partnership that continues to transform travel between North and South America.
Celebrating milestones and connecting communities
Delta commemorated these achievements with events in Bogotá on Oct. 29 and Santiago on Nov. 4, bringing together aviation leaders, B2B customers, media and community partners to celebrate a shared vision for the future of travel in Latin America.
For 25 years, Delta has connected travelers to the rich cultures and landscapes of Chile and Colombia. Bogotá, perched high in the Andes, offers historic neighborhoods like La Candelaria, world-class museums and sweeping views from Monserrate. Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage city, enchants with colonial architecture, vibrant streets and Caribbean beaches. Santiago blends cosmopolitan energy with natural beauty, serving as a gateway to Chile’s wine country and the Andes. Delta’s investment in the region includes the Airbus A350-900 upgrade on the Atlanta–Santiago route, featuring Delta Premium Select for extra space, enhanced recline and locally inspired dining.
Delta’s service highlights include:
- Bogotá: Two daily flights to Atlanta, with one upgraded to a widebody Boeing 767 during peak season.
- Cartagena: Seasonal service to Atlanta, three times weekly on Boeing 737 aircraft.
- Santiago: Daily A350 service to Atlanta, plus a second seasonal frequency from Dec. 11 to Jan. 19.
From these gateways, customers can connect to more than 150 destinations in the U.S. and Canada, including Orlando, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
Why it matters
Delta’s presence in Chile and Colombia is more than a milestone, it’s a commitment to opportunity and connection. For travelers, it means easier access to family, business and leisure destinations, supported by a premium experience that blends innovation with local flavor. Together, Delta and LATAM are redefining travel between North and South America. These investments reflect Delta’s vision: to make every journey not just a flight, but an experience customers look forward to.
Elevating the journey: Delta and LATAM’s Joint Venture redefines customer experience across the Americas
Since its launch in 2022, the Joint Venture has expanded connectivity and elevated the travel experience for customers across the Americas. In three years, the partnership has increased capacity by 88%, operated more than 62,000 flights and introduced 30 new routes, including Lima – Salt Lake City, Miami-Buenos Aires and Bogotá–Miami.
Beyond network growth, the collaboration focuses on comfort and convenience. Travelers enjoy fast, free Wi-Fi on Delta flights with SkyMiles membership, streamlined airport connections and reciprocal loyalty benefits through SkyMiles and LATAM Pass. Premium touches in Delta One include curated dining by Chef José Andrés and a wine program featuring VIK “A” Cabernet Sauvignon, a Chilean favorite available October–December on international routes. This crossover wine initiative brings a taste of Chile to Delta flights, creating a consistent experience for LATAM customers.
