- The results reflect the strong contribution of several markets.
The Airports Council International Latin America and Caribbean (ACI-LAC) announces that passenger traffic in the region, between January and September 2025, performed above projections. Preliminary data for the period show growth of 5.43% compared to the same interval in 2024, surpassing the initial annual forecast of 4.1%.
The results reflect the strong contribution of several markets. Argentina leads with an expansion of 13.5%, followed by Brazil (+8.87%), Panama (+8%), and Peru (+7.1%). Mexico, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Chile, and Colombia also maintain a positive trajectory, reinforcing regional dynamism.
International traffic remains a pillar of recovery and expansion, with growth of 4.9% during the period. Cargo transport also showed consistent progress, recording an increase of 2.45%.
“The figures highlight the strength of the airport sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our airports have not only overcome recent challenges but continue on a path of sustained expansion, driven by cooperation among operators, authorities, and strategic partners. The region is thus consolidating its role as a key player in the global aviation landscape. With these indicators, Latin America and the Caribbean reaffirm their position as one of the best-performing regions in the recovery of global aviation, demonstrating resilience and continuous growth capacity,” said Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI-LAC.
