- Preliminary data compiled by ACI-LAC shows Argentina leading in relative growth while Brazil consolidates its regional leadership.
The Airports Council International Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) has released preliminary air traffic data for the region in 2025, compiled from various official sources, confirming a 5% increase compared to the previous year. This result reflects the sustained growth in air travel demand and the resilience of regional markets in the face of various challenges.
Among the countries that stood out, Argentina led in relative growth with a 12.7% increase, driven by both domestic and international traffic.
Brazil, the region’s largest air market, recorded 234.8 million passengers, representing a 9.1% increase. International traffic was the main driver, rising 14% (+3.5 million passengers).
In the Caribbean, overall growth reached 1%. The Dominican Republic maintained its leadership with 19.4 million passengers (+4.6%), while Curaçao stood out with a 17% increase. Jamaica, however, experienced a 7.9% decline due to the impact of Hurricane Melissa on operations and tourism flows.
Meanwhile, Miami International Airport closed the year with 55.3 million passengers.
Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI-LAC, stated: “The 5% growth recorded in 2025 confirms the strength of aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean, even in a challenging global environment. It is important to highlight Argentina, where the open skies policy has been decisive in boosting air traffic and generating a 12.7% increase. At the same time, Brazil reaffirmed its position as the region’s largest market, with results above average and strong international expansion, demonstrating its central role in Latin American connectivity.”
