Aruba Airport Authority N.V.’s (AAA) proudly announces that Queen Beatrix International Airport (Aruba Airport) successfully achieved its 4th consecutive Green Globe Certification, reflecting its continued commitment and dedication to sustainability, occupational health and safety, efficiency and innovation.
Aruba Airport became the 1st airport in the world to achieve this certification back in 2022, highlighting its aim and commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Green Globe is one of the leading certification programs for sustainable operations and management of travel and tourism worldwide.
This year, high impact areas included continuous improvement and installation of high-efficiency chillers, introduction of waste separation bins, recycling of kitchen cooking oil, introduction of water management systems and processes for quality assurance, awareness sessions on environmental and sustainability initiatives for the airport community, and cultural activations to mention a few.
In line with AAA’s corporate strategy, this certification further supports Aruba Airport’s carbon reduction goals and further integration of sustainability best practices into its business processes.
