  • Removing Shoes Is No Longer Necessary

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is pleased to announce an important enhancement to the passenger security screening process at Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA Airport). Already enforced, departing passengers will no longer be required to remove their shoes during security screening.

This improvement aligns with AAA’s efforts to adhere to and ensure it evolves with international aviation security standards and reflects AAA’s continued commitment to enhancing passenger comfort while maintaining the highest levels of safety and security.

The updated procedure streamlines the screening process, reduces wait times, and improves the overall airport experience — all without compromising security protocols. AAA collaborates closely with its aviation security partners to ensure that safety remains a top priority.

“We are continuously looking for ways to improve the passenger journey at AUA Airport,” said Gershwin Lacle, Security Manager at AAA. “This update allows us to provide a more efficient and comfortable screening experience while upholding strict international security requirements.”

Passengers are encouraged to continue arriving at the airport with sufficient time prior to departure and to follow all standard security guidelines regarding liquids, electronics, and travel documentation.

This enhancement also reflects AAA’s strategic commitment to investing in the latest security technologies that support higher international security standards while improving operational efficiency and passenger convenience. By continuously modernizing its security infrastructure, AUA Airport remains dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and seamless travel experience for all passengers.
