- The new direct connection will allow Aruba residents and Colombian visitors to access more travel options, tourism experiences, and wellness opportunities.
Aruba continues to strengthen its regional air connectivity network with the announcement of a new seasonal route operated by Wingo, which will directly connect the island with Barranquilla, Colombia, via Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport.
The route will begin operating on July 9 and will be available seasonally during peak travel periods, with two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays. This new connection expands travel options for Aruba residents and facilitates the arrival of visitors from Colombia, offering both tourism and business opportunities.
In addition to tourism exchange, the launch of this route represents a key opportunity for Arubans interested in exploring northern Colombia, a region with a growing offering of cultural, gastronomic, and unique travel experiences.
“Wingo strengthens connectivity between Aruba and Colombia, benefiting both our residents and international visitors. The opening of this seasonal route between Barranquilla and Aruba reinforces the strategy of the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.), which aims to benefit the Aruban community by providing travel and regional connectivity options, while also supporting the diversification of our primary market in Latin America,” said Ronella Croes, CEO of the A.T.A.
“The launch of this new seasonal service between Barranquilla and Aruba represents an important step in strengthening our regional connectivity and expanding access to our island. At Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA), we remain committed to working closely with our airline partners to create new opportunities that benefit our community, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the overall travel experience for our passengers. We are pleased to welcome Wingo’s continued expansion and look forward to the positive impact this route will bring to both markets,” said Jonny Andersen, CEO of AAA.
With this new route, Aruba reaffirms its commitment to offering unique, accessible, and responsible experiences, consolidating its position as a destination that combines wellness, culture, and high-quality tourism for all its visitors.
