Pratt & Whitney Canada, a business unit of Pratt & Whitney, announced its employees – supported by several company programs – have donated a grand total of CAN$1,142,000 to Centraide of Greater Montreal and other Centraide/United Way organizations across Canada.

“Centraide serves a vital role in our communities by funding organizations that work directly with those in need,” said Maria Della Posta, president, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “Our employees have supported Centraide for more than 40 years. This year, a time when the need is greater than ever, their generosity has surpassed all expectations.”

Pratt & Whitney offers its employees a convenient payroll deduction program for charitable donations made to a wide variety of organizations, including Centraide. Throughout the year, the company matches every donation made by an employee on a dollar-for-dollar basis. This year as a one-time gesture, Pratt & Whitney’s parent company, Raytheon Technologies (RTX), selected Tuesday, November 30, as a special day of giving. For every dollar donated by employees to a charitable organization on that day, the company donated an additional two dollars, tripling the impact.

“Our employees know that every one of us has a role to play in supporting the communities in which we live and work. I am incredibly proud of their willingness to give so generously to help individuals and families who are struggling”, Della Posta added.

In 2020, Centraide of Greater Montreal supported 350 community organizations and projects that each year help 500,000 vulnerable children, young adults, women, men and seniors in the Canadian city.
