The Supreme Pontiff will travel with ITA Airways for his next papal flight on July 24 at 9:00 am from Rome Fiumicino to Edmonton International Airport. The flight will be operated on an Airbus A330 with the new blue livery and for the first time the Holy Father will depart from Terminal 5 of Rome Fiumicino’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport. The landing is scheduled for 11:20 a.m. local time.
During the Apostolic Journey, His Holiness will also visit Quebec. The departure will be at 9:00 am on July 27 from Edmonton airport and will arrive at 3:05 pm local time at Quebec-Jean Lesage International Airport.
Finally, Pope Francis will complete the Canadian trip by visiting the city of Iqaluit, leaving Québec at 1:00 pm on July 29 and landing at Iqaluit International Airport at 4:05 pm local time.
Fabio Maria Lazzerini, ITA Airways CEO, will be greeting the Holy Father at Fiumicino Airport. A crew of 12 people made up of 3 pilots and 9 flight attendants will accompany the Sovereign of the State of Vatican City on his journey. Commander Massimiliano Marselli, with 18.000 hours of flight experience, will be the supervisor of on-board activities.
Additionally, the papal delegation and the representatives of the Italian and International press will travel together with Pope Francis. Furthermore, ITA Airways’ team dedicated to special flights will be on board.
