As for the number of aircraft in operation, the airport with the highest number in August was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, with a total of 31,575 (-15% compared to 2019), followed by Palma de Mallorca Airport, with 28,838 (+0.2%); Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport, with 27,779 flights (-15%); Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, with 15,159 (-3.1%); Ibiza Airport, with 12,827 (+4.6%); Gran Canaria Airport, with 9,910 (-6.6%); and Alicante-Elche Airport, with 9,795 aircraft movements, representing a decrease of 8.9% compared to the same month of 2019.

Regarding the transport of cargo, the airport that recorded the highest volume of cargo in August was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, with 43,511 tonnes, which is 1.9% less than in the same month of 2019. It is followed by Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport, which recorded 13,324 tonnes (+1% compared to 2019), Zaragoza Airport, with 10,058 tonnes (-35.6%), and Vitoria Airport, with 5,423 tonnes, which is 31.9% more than in the same month of 2019.
