The oneworld® Alliance has been named Best Airline Alliance for the 14th consecutive year by readers of Global Traveler, securing oneworld’s position as the most preferred alliance among frequent flyers.

The prestigious accolade was part of the 20th annual GT Tested Reader Survey Awards, hosted by Global Traveler. Award winners gathered for a gala reception on 13 December at The Langham Huntington in Pasadena, Los Angeles.

Maria McKinnon, oneworld Director of Brand, Marketing and Loyalty, who accepted the award on behalf of the alliance, said: “We’re delighted that readers of Global Traveler have once again recognised oneworld as their preferred airline alliance.

“This special award underscores the unwavering commitment of our valued member airlines to delivering exceptional customer service and an unparalleled travel experience.”

oneworld member airlines also took home several prestigious industry awards:

  • Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card from Bank of America had its 12th win as Best Frequent-Flyer Affinity Credit Card and fifth win for Best Frequent-Flyer Affinity Credit Card Benefits.
  • American Airlines took home its seventh win for Best Airline Website (aa.com), the title of Best Airline for Domestic First Class, and Best Frequent-Flyer Customer Service for its AAdvantage programme.
  • Cathay Pacific took home Best Trans-Pacific Airline award, Japan Airlines earned the Best Airline to Japan honour, Royal Air Maroc was voted Best Airline in Africa, while Qantas was recognised as Best Airline in Australia and New Zealand.

The annual GT Tested Reader Survey Awards are a highly respected and unbiased reflection of the best in travel, based solely on reader votes. The comprehensive survey honours airlines, hotels, loyalty programmes and travel-related products.
