Arajet, a low-cost airline from the Dominican Republic, has become the newest airline member of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA).
José Ricardo Botelho, ALTA’s Executive Director and CEO, highlighted: “We are pleased to welcome Arajet to ALTA. Their focus on democratizing air transport, along with their commitment to sustainability, is an example of what this sector can offer to Latin America and the Caribbean, a region that lacks other equally efficient and safe means of transportation. Every time a plane lands in a community, it greatly benefits by generating jobs and opportunities for millions of people. We are confident that their participation will be key in continuing to drive growth and connectivity in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
One of Arajet’s main value propositions is the “democratization of the skies,” which they promote by offering affordable fares and opening new routes that connect the Americas. In addition to their focus on accessibility, the airline also stands out for its commitment to operational efficiency and sustainability. Their entire fleet consists of next-generation Boeing aircraft, allowing Arajet to reduce fuel consumption by 14% and decrease noise pollution by 50% compared to other single-aisle aircraft.
“Being part of ALTA means joining the largest aviation network in our continent, which fills us with pride and opens up a range of synergy opportunities with the industry to continue growing and providing world-class service to all our passengers,” said Víctor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet.
In its second anniversary, the airline has successfully connected Santo Domingo with over 23 destinations in 16 countries. Moreover, Arajet was recognized as the best new airline in the world at the 2023 CAPA Awards.
By joining ALTA, Arajet reinforces its commitment to continue expanding its network of destinations and fleet, working together with the other members of the association to contribute to the sustainable growth of the aviation sector in the region.
