Viva Aerobus announced today its September 2024 preliminary traffic results. Viva Aerobus’ passenger traffic increased 7.8% compared to September 2023, reaching 2.3 million passengers, driven by an increase of 8.6% and 0.9% in domestic and international traffic, respectively. Load factors reached 88.1% compared to 86.9% in 2023, with a load factor mix of 89.7% and 80.5% in domestic and international, respectively.
Viva Aerobus grew its total capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) by 7.5% compared to September 2023, reflecting an increase of 7.0% and 10.0% in domestic and international, respectively.
“Passenger demand remained robust in September, even during this slower seasonal period. Demand outpaced capacity growth, contributing to healthy load factors and reflecting the strength of our network. We remain focused on maintaining our operational reliability despite the ongoing grounding of aircraft due to the P&W engine recall crisis and the challenges posed by extreme weather events” , said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.
