  • On May 31st, International Flight Attendant Day, more than fifty crew members have paraded through Madrid’s Paisaje de la Luz.
  • Prior to that, a group of them posed inside the Prado Museum next to Jacob’s Dream by the painter José de Ribera.
  • Cabin crew are Iberia’s largest employee group, made up of 4,023 people.

On the occasion of International Flight Attendant Day, Iberia organized a very special celebration in the cultural heart of Madrid.

More than fifty cabin crew members paraded wearing uniforms designed by Teresa Helbig — recipient of Spain’s National Fashion Award — in a symbolic route that began next to the statue of Diego Velázquez at the main entrance of the Prado Museum and concluded at Espacio Iberia, located in the Serrería Belga Cultural Center.

Before the parade, seven crew members posed next to Jacob’s Dream, one of the great masterpieces of Spanish Baroque by José de Ribera, currently on display in Room 9 of the Prado Museum.

With this initiative, the airline aimed to pay tribute to the art of being a flight attendant and to the essential role they play on every flight: ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of passengers.

Iberia currently has a cabin crew staff of 4,023 people, of whom 2,738 are women (68.05%) and 1,285 are men (31.95%).

Through this initiative, Iberia not only recognizes the commitment and dedication of its professionals but also reinforces its connection with art, culture, and fashion as part of its brand purpose.
