The WestJet Master Executive Council (MEC), represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), voted to elect a full slate of MEC officers to begin a two-year term on September 7, 2025.
The following pilots were all re-elected to lead WestJet’s 2,350 unionized pilots:
Capt. Bernard Lewall, MEC Chair
Capt. Chris Vaughan-Jones, MEC Vice Chair
First Officer Vignesh Sridhar, MEC Secretary-Treasurer
“As we look towards negotiating our next collective agreement, I look forward to taking our strengths as a unified pilot group and giving it direction,” said re-elected chair Capt. Bernard Lewall. “The more unity we have, the more powerful we become!”
“I am proud to continue in my position as vice chair, where I can represent the best interests of our pilots and ensure we are well-positioned for the upcoming growth and continued career success we deserve,” noted re-elected vice chair Capt. Chris Vaughan-Jones.
“I would like to thank the members of the MEC for allowing me to continue in my role as secretary-treasurer for WestJet pilots, and I look forward to serving the needs of our pilot group,” declared First Officer Vignesh Sridhar upon his re-election.
