- Flight between Lisbon and the heart of the Amazon carried passenger number 2,066,000.
TAP Air Portugal has reached an unprecedented milestone: as of this Wednesday, December 17, the airline has carried a record number of passengers on routes connecting Europe and Brazil—2,066,000 travelers. This achievement consolidates TAP as one of the main air bridges between the two continents.
This is yet another historic achievement that reinforces the airline’s strategic role in transatlantic connectivity, surpassing what had already been achieved in 2024.
The milestone was celebrated in Manaus with the arrival of flight TP51 from Lisbon. This year, on November 4, the capital of the state of Amazonas marked the first anniversary of the Lisbon–Manaus route, an important milestone that reinforces TAP’s commitment to expanding connectivity between Brazil and Europe.
To mark the arrival of the passenger who symbolized this record, TAP, in partnership with Amazonastur and Vinci Airport, prepared a special reception at Manaus airport. The moment was marked by speeches and tributes that highlighted the importance of the route. TAP’s Miles&Go program also offered the passenger 150,000 bonus miles.
“This record on the Europe–Brazil route reflects passengers’ confidence in TAP and the importance of the Brazilian market. Celebrating this milestone in Manaus is symbolic, as the Lisbon–Manaus route reinforces our commitment to connecting the north of the country with Europe,” said Carlos Antunes, TAP’s director for the Americas.
