  • ACI-LAC releases Spanish edition of global airport concession guidelines, offering clear PPP best practices for long-term infrastructure and performance.

Airports Council International Latin America & Caribbean (ACI-LAC) is pleased to announce the release in Spanish of the report: “Best Practices in Airport Concession Contracts: Global Approaches and Guidelines for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) 2025.”

This document provides clear and practical guidance on structuring and implementing private sector participation in airports, specifically aimed at concessionaires, investors, lenders, advisors, governments, and granting authorities.

Currently, more than 850 airports in over 90 countries have private sector involvement, and investment continues to expand with 132 transactions at different stages of the global pipeline as of January 2025. In this context, airport asset concessions have become the key model for financing long-term infrastructure and optimizing operational performance, making access to clear and harmonized international guidelines imperative.

“These guidelines are based on decades of global and Latin American & Caribbean experience in the sector. By making this strategic framework available to our region in Spanish, we are providing governments and investors with a clear and practical roadmap to structure airport partnerships that are transparent, resilient, and capable of generating long-term value for passengers, communities, and local economies,” said Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI-LAC.
