- Passengers who fly with Grupo Iberia and/or LATAM and its subsidiaries will enjoy benefits that they already have for belonging to a category of the LATAM Pass or Iberia Club loyalty programs.
- Customers will have the possibility of access to lounges, seat selection, extra luggage and priority at check-in, boarding and baggage claim, subject to local regulatory restrictions.
- In addition, on each trip you can accumulate qualifying points in the case of LATAM and Elite points in the case of Iberia.
- This new agreement is part of Iberia Club’s effort to offer more and better options to its members that increase the added value of belonging to the loyalty program.
Since 2016, Iberia and LATAM have had a frequent flyer benefits agreement.
The airlines of Spain and South America, respectively, decided to take a new step in the context of these agreements, which consists of the possibility of reciprocal recognition of the benefits of each of the respective loyalty programs, Iberia Club and LATAM Pass. This is subject to applicable restrictions under local regulations.
When an Iberia Group passenger travels in LATAM – and vice versa – they will enjoy benefits that are close to those they already have when flying with their airline, in accordance with their Iberia Club member category and subject to the regulations and priorities established by law in each country. This will be reflected in the respective loyalty program:
➢ Priority throughout the trip: From check-in and boarding to luggage collection.
➢ Comfort: Access to VIP rooms (lounges) and seat selection at no additional cost.
➢ Flexibility: Extra luggage allowed, regardless of the airline you fly with.
➢ Dual Accumulation: LATAM Pass members continue to add qualifying miles and points on Iberia flights. And Iberia Club members will accumulate Avios and Elite points when traveling in LATAM.
“This announcement not only represents a new step to deepen our frequent passenger agreement with the LATAM group in Latin America and Europe, but it will also allow us to continue fulfilling one of our main promises: putting the customer at the center of our strategy and rewarding more and better passengers who are part of our loyalty program. In this way, they will have new benefits that are designed to reward that preference and increase the value proposition in trips between Latin America and Europe,” says Beatriz Guillén, director of Iberia customers.
Likewise, as explained by the CEO of LATAM Pass, Cristián Ortiz, this milestone is part of the new ‘LATAM Pass Global Experience’ benefit, which seeks to deliver an increasingly complete, comfortable and exclusive travel experience to members, expanding the benefits of LATAM Pass to those who travel on partner airlines. “With Iberia, today we enter a new stage focused directly on the traveler, which will allow us to offer a more consistent experience for members, expanding access to benefits, services, accumulation of miles, qualifying points and facilities to fly when traveling between South America and Europe. This is in line with our objective of continuing to build a loyalty ecosystem that is part of every moment of daily life and is a relevant step to continue adding value to our more than 53 million members around the world,” said Ortiz.
In addition, on each trip members will be able to accumulate Avios and Elite points in the case of Iberia, and extra qualifying miles and points in LATAM.
