The Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum) is reinforcing its operations for Easter and has scheduled 7,329 flights between March 27 and April 7, 10% more than during the same period in 2025. Specifically, 1,175,132 seats have been put on sale for this holiday period.

To meet travelers’ needs, Iberia has increased capacity and frequencies to some destinations. Venice will have three additional flights per week; Budapest, Athens, and Prague will each have two new frequencies, and an additional flight will be offered for those wishing to travel to Vienna. Furthermore, capacity is increasing on flights to Rome, a favorite destination at this time of year, which will be operated on select days during Holy Week with wide-body aircraft, frequently used for long-haul routes.

“We are aware that Easter week represents a peak in travel concentrated in just a few days. Therefore, at Iberia we have reinforced our capacity in the most popular destinations, ensuring that the increased travel translates into a smooth and comfortable journey experience with a seat offering that truly meets our customers’ needs,” says Víctor Moneo, Iberia’s Global Sales Director.

This year, Easter week also coincides with the start of the summer season for the tourism sector, which begins on March 29. On that very day, Iberia launches its daily flight to Newark, in the United States. This route, operated by the new Airbus A321 XLR, complements the existing service to JFK Airport, thus offering three daily flights to New York.

Furthermore, for this summer season, Iberia has increased its capacity by 7.6% in Latin America in just one year and will offer more than 3.3 million seats. The airline is also offering a record number of seats in the United States, representing a 19% increase compared to 2025. This growth in seat capacity, due to the opening of new destinations and increased frequencies on existing routes, is part of the Flight Plan 2030, the company’s roadmap for the coming years. This plan aims to position the Madrid hub, located at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, on par with major European hubs, with an investment of €6 billion.
