American Airlines and its partners joined forces once again to benefit theCystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation at the 41st Celebrity Ski event in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The event brought together American team members, partners and supporters for a weekend of fundraising and community engagement on the slopes supporting efforts to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.
Over the years, American has raised more than $50 million to help fund groundbreaking research and care for people living with CF, making a lasting impact on the fight against the disease.
“For decades, our team members, partners and supporters have come together at this event to drive meaningful impact,” said American’s Chief Marketing Officer Caroline Clayton. “Supporting organizations like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation reflects our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers beyond travel, and we’re proud to help advance research and care for those impacted by CF.”
This year’s event welcomed more than 425 attendees and volunteers, including sports and entertainment celebrities such as Carli Lloyd, Alexi Lalas and Mark Ingram. Participants also enjoyed a live performance presented by Warner Records, featuring Michael Marcagi.
“For 41 years, American Airlines has stood alongside the CF Foundation as our longest running corporate supporter, raising more than $50 million to advance cystic fibrosis research and care,” said Michael Boyle, MD, President and CEO of the CF Foundation. “That generosity has helped drive progress that is enabling people with CF to live longer than ever before.”
The CF Foundation leads the global effort to find a cure for CF, a genetic disorder that affects the lungs, pancreas and other organs. The Foundation funds a broad portfolio of research initiatives aimed at developing new treatments and ultimately curing the disease.
American has helped drive key CF Foundation breakthroughs, from supporting the annual Celebrity Ski event to donating hundreds of millions of AAdvantage® miles supporting fundraising efforts across the country.
